Mark is the TAI Club President and has built many RC model airplanes over the years. For Christmas 2023, Mark found a new Yak 55 under their tree. I hope to have more pics on the build to add to its section below.
The Tigercat is one of his best builds in my opinion. Not only because it has twin engines but it is also really awesome to see and hear in flight. I had never seen a RC model with an electric starter before this plane. Mark did say he was looking for something to put his new YS-120 on, and that's all I'm saying about that. Below are just three examples of his beautiful model build work.

“Grumman F7F Tigercat”
This is a 1:7.5 scale Grumman F7F Tigercat. Mark scratch built this model from Don Palmer plans but made many modifications using modern build techniques.
Mark started cutting out parts in Nov 2015 and finished the plane, ready to fly, in Feb 2017. It is powered by two 36cc PTE gas engines running APC 15.75 x 13P 3-blade props and two 16 oz. gas tanks, one in each nacelle.
The servos are Power HD 9150’s but the four flap servos and the nose gear steering servo are Power HD 1501’s. The receiver is a nine channel 2.4 GHz Hitec powered thru a Redwing RC Power board using two 2200mah 11.1V LiPo batteries.
The main and nose landing gears are Fultz HD Scorpions. Mark obtained all the graphics from Callie Graphics and it is covered with Ultrakote.
We also have some movies of the Maiden flight!!!
“Goldberg Sukhio Su-26”
The Sukhoi Su-26, a single-seat aerobatic aircraft, is designed and manufactured by Sukhoi Design Bureau, Russia. The Su-26 is principally used for training, state-of-the-art aerobatic competitions and expos. The development of the Su-26 began in 1983 and it completed its maiden flight on 30 June 1984. The aircraft was first revealed at the world championship held in Hungary in August 1984.
Below are several pictures of Marks' model Su-26MX, another excellent build from Mark.
